Torreón Victoria

A historic corner among palm trees and nature

Hidden among palm trees, araucarias and the trails of San Cristóbal Hill, the Torreón Victoria is one of the most charming and historic places in the Metropolitan Park.

Located right in front of the Tupahue Station of the Santiago Cable Car, this space was inaugurated in 1925 as part of the project led by Alberto Mackenna to transform the hill into a great urban park for Santiago.

In 1929 the Torreón Victoria worked as an Astronomical Observatory and later as the El Salto Meteorological Station.

Its architecture and privileged location make it a unique place within the park, where history, heritage and nature meet in perfect harmony.

Its interior covers 120 m², while the terrace and rooftop add up to 580 m².

Over the years, the Torreón Victoria has witnessed countless visits and moments that are part of the memory of San Cristóbal Hill.

A place to discover another side of the hill

Visiting the Torreón Victoria is an invitation to explore lesser-known areas of San Cristóbal Hill and discover spaces full of tranquillity, beauty and panoramic views.

Surrounded by vegetation, where palms and araucarias stand out, and with a unique atmosphere, this heritage corner offers a different experience, away from the city's pace.

Its proximity to the Tupahue Pool and the park's various trails makes it an excellent stop for those who want to explore the hill more calmly and deeply.
